Topic:
Improving Communication with Improv

The single biggest problem in the workplace is the failure to communicate.  Effective communication strategies that improve teamwork, increase morale and help increase productivity can be achieved using improvisation.  This workshop will address the elements of good communication including improvisation exercises that create a common purpose.  Improv teaches us to listen, build upon the ideas of others, “yes, and” versus “yes, but” thinking, teambuilding, problem solving, adaptability and confidence.  Rather than “looking outside the box,” improv shows you how to recognize the gifts that are already in the box with new eyes and fosters a spirit of innovation.

Participants get their creative juices flowing and learn new ways to tap their inner creativity and new ways to work with others.  There is much you have no control over.  However, we all have control over our perspective and improv teaches participants how to approach situations in a new and positive light.

“Kate Ritter did a tremendous job for us with her Improv Training for the Workplace at our office. The program included innovative team-building activities based on improv exercises, and the staff had fun the whole time.  Some of the highlights included the improv poem, the partner exercises, and the skit at the end to wrap up the training.

We have never done team building before with an improv orientation; it was more fun than I thought it would be.  The staff liked the activities and improv approach; I liked the fact that Kate did a nice job of tying it all into business concepts, including teamwork in the workplace. This is a great workshop, Kate comes highly recommended!”
